Panda Security today announced that its new Panda Security for Internet Transactions protects sensitive transactions online using "Collective Intelligence." Banks and e-commerce sites can license the service from Panda and make it available to customers.

By quickly scanning for active malicious software during the login and authentication process, PSIT eliminates the possibility that a keylogger, Trojan, or other malicious program might intercept sensitive financial information. Panda General Manager Gary Leibowitz explained, "We detected a need for an additional layer of protection to deal with new types of threats. We’re seeing a quarter to a third of new malware directed toward financial institutions, e-commerce, and B2C transactions… (PSIT) provides a solution for dealing with online fraud in financial transactions." PSIT relies on the same Collective Intelligence technology used by Panda’s online NanoScan and TotalScan services.
